The Hummel Report - 3/3: Missing in Action.
Rehoboth's Police chief has been under fire for the past several months - after a December drinking incident in East Providence that has left lingering questions - and a no confidence vote from the department's rank-and-file. This week Jim Hummel finds the chief hasn't been spending a lot of time at work.

(3/3/2011 11:02:24 AM) If one listens carefully, you hear that Selectman Foley is in "follow Mode". He is Be-Hind on the whereabouts of his Police Chief. Hey Ken, you want to check up on and control everything else in town, you'd better care where your employee is shacking up these days. He's getting paid a tidy salary to be camping out in seclusion of Pawtucket. I hope he is not keeping weapons in that car. He is be-Hind on the Bylaws of his town and rules of open meeting. Hey Ken, Why did you sneak a meeting to put non binding questions on the town warrent? Oh is it because you are not Be-Hind what voters approved last fall and you think you can get it your way or, just delay things some more? He is Be-Hind on who "they" are when refering to Concerned Citizens. Hey Ken, They aren't a small faction of "thugs or an angry mob" (as you call them) bent on maintaning a 30 year old status quo of what you call "those responsible for past corruption in the town". They are folks who care about responsible town management - something else you are Be-Hind on. Hey Ken, maybe if you could get your head out of your Be-Hind mode, you could be more diligent about "following" what is good for the town, not for a few self rightious individuals whose Reform Banner is a cloak for their personal agenda. |
