Poll confirms low approval ratings for Chafee

A second poll has confirmed what a Brown University Poll revealed last week: Governor Chafee is unpopular among voters. A WPRI-TV poll, that surveyed 500 people, found that only 21% of people give Chafee a positive review and 75% grade him negatively. 48% of voters rate his performance as poor.
According to the poll even unions are turning their backs on the governor with 80% of union households rating him negatively. Democrats are the most favorable toward Chafee with 31% giving him positive ratings.
Meanwhile, General Treasurer Gina Raimondo has come out on top again, receiving a positive view from 56% of voters while only 25% rate her negatively and 19% say they dont know. 48% of union households rated Raimondo positively.
Sheldon Whitehouse has a major advantage over Republican Challenger Barry Hinckley according to the poll. Hinckley pulls in 28% whereas Whitehouse pulls in 50% and 20% of voters say they are unsure.
Whitehouse has a 38% positive rating whereas 53% of people rank him negatively. President Obama has a 43% approval rating in Rhode Island with 55% rating the president negatively.
