The Hummel Report - 4.5.12 Last Chance?
Last fall a parking enforcement officer in Providence instigated a profanity-filled argument with a motorist on Federal Hill. It wasn't the first time. The same officer signed a `last chance' agreement several years to save her job after getting into a similar altercation. This week Jim Hummel sits down with the public safety commissioner, who fired her - only to find out the agreement she signed wasn't really her last chance.

(8/28/2012 2:08:16 AM) To go through months of arbitration for the city to lose and have to pay backpay on false allegations...it's a sin when the wrong people have authority...Advice to the commish make sure you have substantial evidence when going through the termination process. Stop costing the taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars to figure out if a parking enforcement officer swore at someone...spending thousands of dollars to fire an employee that makes 30k a year. |

(8/28/2012 1:57:36 AM) The real story should be on how much money the tax payers of the city of providence have to fork forward for the lawyers and mitigation on firing an employee on unjust and false allegations...Commissioner Pare should be the one that has to answer the tax payers on how many wrongful terminations he has given out over his tenure as commissioner ...He has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on wrongfully terminating city employees..he should be tarred and feathered! |

Are you looking to report the facts or are you helping the commissioner out? Your listeners deserve the truth, not political games. The report was so far titled I am surprised you did both did not fall on the fall and bag heads. Your bad sir. |
