A good rule of thumb when debating any issue with anyone is: When someone in the argument starts to criticize the WAY someone else is debating, that person has started to lose the argument. This tactic is used however, effectively in the battle for public opinion by political groups all the time. Its actually become the weapon of choice for the hard left whenever they need to convince the average American of something that is so obviously against their best interest. You turn the debate emotional and therefore control the debate. The latest example of that, is the Drop the I Word Campaign. Watch THIS:
This new campaign has been started by a group called the Applied Research Center and its media arm called Color Lines. They want to get government, the media, and you to stop using the word illegal when referring to the immigration status of someone who has come to this country in an illegal way. They prefer the term undocumented or some other watered down hogwash. This group actually tries to convince you that the term illegal is dehumanizing, and racially coded. Its apparently also used justify violence against people who are illegal as well. Of course these theories arent backed up by anything other than random clips in a video. They also say that the term isnt legally accurate. Right because not everything against the law is illegal. When youre done laughing at that one please continue to read.
Looking at this youll see that the people who advocate for unmitigated illegal immigration have no clear path to convince the American people that its in their best interest. Any rational human being knows that a nation needs to control its borders. We need to be able to control the influx of people in
order to maintain security, economics, and fairness. These are very simple concepts that everyone can grasp. In fact these concepts are so fundamentally sound that the only real way that you could argue against them is to make an emotional appeal that the accurate discussion of the issue is somehow hateful. So lets turn the debate to this phantom hate instead of the actual real issues that impact people every day.
This tool of radicals is an effective and despicable. How many other arguments have been changed over the years using this very tactic? You may want to list them. The American people have been victimized and manipulated by the political elite and radicals in this country for long enough. We just need to see through the fog to the truth. The way you start to do that is to break down the tactics that these people use to manipulate you. Now youre armed with one way to do so.
