Providence Police Officer accused of sexual assault

A Providence Police Officer has been suspended with pay after a woman alleged that she was sexually assaulted by him.
On Tuesday, the female was treated at a local hospital for the alleged sexual assault. She contacted both the State and Providence Police to file a complaint against the officer.
"We believe it was just one victim," said Lt. Colonel Raymond Studley, spokesperson for the Rhode Island State Police. "It is an active investigation. We are continuing to investigate it and gather all of the facts and cricumstances at this time."
The officers name has not been released, the investigation is still underway, and as of late Wednesday, the officer had not been charged.
