Teacher turned designer Kara Laricks was crowned Fashion Star for the first season of the clothing designer show. Kara received a 6 million collection deal with H&M, Macy's and Saks Fifth Avenue. I chatted with Kara and Fashion Star buyer/judge Caprice Willard.
