Everything’s coming up Viola:  Actress and Central Falls native Viola Davis returned home to a busy schedule of events this week.  On Sunday she delivered the Providence College Commencement address and received an honorary doctorate in fine arts.  Davis was among those to receive a 2012 Pell Award at Trinity Rep on Monday night.  On Thursday Davis returned to Central Falls High School to address graduating seniors urging them to hold on to, “hard times and joyous moments.”  Davis was also inducted into the high school’s alumni Hall of Fame.  Rhode Island College was also treated to a visit from Davis.  I was fortunate enough to spend some time with the SAG award winner who told me that she would love to work with Kathy Bates, Judi Dench and would love to work with Meryl Streep again.  (Left: Viola Davis at P.C.)

HDTV features Rhode Island Designer:  Burrillville native Jessica Pnut Goudreau was one of four interior designers featured on HGTV’s, “White Room Challenge” on Tuesday night.

National Geographic stars in Newport:  Over 150 guests were on hand at The Mooring in Newport on Thursday night to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Regan Communications Group and toast the launch of PR guru George Regan's new 44 foot Jeanneau sailboat the "PR Princess".  Joining Regan at Sayer's Wharf to christen the boat were former Providence Mayor and WPRO’s Buddy Cianci; and stars of National Geographic's Wicked Tuna Ralph Wilkins (pictured), Dave Carraro, Sandro Maniaci, Bill Monte, Kevin Leonowert, Scott Prentiss and Gregory Chorebanian.

From N.K. to, “Today”:  North Kingstown native Elizabeth Beisel, 19 will make her return to the Summer Olympics in London.  The swimmer, who was just 15 when she competed at the Beijing Olympics four years ago, was featured in a segment on NBC’s Today Show on Thursday.

Original “Fighter” in Bristol: Bristol’s UFG Boxing Club welcomed “Irish” Mickey Ward to their open house event on Saturday. Ward, who was portrayed by Mark Wahlberg in the academy award winning movie “The Fighter” met with fans and discussed his life in the boxing ring.

Pauly D parties in Providence:  Just days before he’s set to tape season six of MTV’s Jersey Shore Paul “Pauly D” DelVecchio was spotted at Vanity Restaurant and Lounge Pauly was seen with, “The Pauly D Project” co-star Jerry Gialanella sans cameras.  “They both were incredibly humble took pics with everyone, signed autographs and partied in VIP all night,” said Vanity Managing Partner Ed Brady.   “They really showed fame doesn’t change a person and we are very appreciative with all his success that he is still supporting his old friends and that he took his CREW with him!”  (To the left: Pauly D, Jerry with Ed Brady)
