
Hazmat situation blocks off part of Downtown Pawtucket

A hazmat scare left a portion of Downtown Pawtucket closed down on Sunday evening.
Residents were advised to stay in their homes when a tanker carrying liquefied natural gas pulled over when the operator notice vapors emanating from the truck around 9 p.m.
Police set up a perimeter to stop traffic and individuals from entering the blocked off area at the intersection of Exchange Street and Montgomery Street.
Officials discovered the incident was due to a broken valve.
