A ribbon-cutting Friday as officials capped the completion of a years-long, $12-million effort to rehabilitate 52 units of foreclosed and run-down housing in the Smith Hill neighborhood of Providence.
The housing involved mostly foreclosed homes throughout the neighborhood, and was revitilized by the Smith Hill Community Development Corporation, Dimeo Properties and Rhode Island Housing.
"Today, we celebrate our mission," said Francis Smith, Executive Director of the Smith Hill Community Development Corporation. "This common vision we all share centers on improving the lives of others, by providing safe, quality, affordable housing."
