Director Michael Altman heads to Providence for the Rhode Island International Film Festival on August 9th to screen his documentary film, "American Songwriter."  The film is described as a, "kaleidoscopic musical road trip down a million mile highway of poetry, philosophy and life" featuring Nashville hit songwriter, Danny Darst.  Michael, the son of the late famed director Robert Altman, is also noted for writing the lyrics to, "Suicide is Painless" ; better known as the theme to the movie and TV show, "Mash."  Take a listen to my chat with Michael Altman and for more info on American Songwriter click here.  Click here for info on the Rhode Island International Film Festival.
