OPEN HOUSE TO CELEBRATE NEW CHILD AND FAMILY COMMUNITY CENTER(Newport, RI) On Saturday October 31st, Child and Family will open its doors to the public for a celebration of its new Community Center located at 31 John Clarke Road in Middletown. The Festivities begin at 11am and will continue until 3pm. The community is invited to tour this state of the art, social service facility. During this free family friendly event, children will enjoy story time with Kaleidoscope Theatres Snow White and Cinderella, Balloon Magic preformed by Lon Cerel, world record holder for the fastest balloon animal maker, face painting, craft activities and a special opportunity to become an abc6 junior meteorologist. “
BAYCON 2009 (Model Contest)

Baycolony Historical Modelers Assocation will be holding their annual model contest on November 1st. at the Knights of Columbus hall South Attleboro MA.Our model club was formed in 1968 and is an IPMS Chapter club. Each year on the first Sunday of November, our club holds its annual competition called BAYCON. The competition is open to all with awards given for first to fourth and has over 35 categories representing all subjects. All members and non members are encouraged to attend.

JAYCEES PUBLIC LANDS DAY 2 The locations - will include the award-winning JAYCEE Corridor & Arboretum and state Senator Donald Roch Riverwalk, centrally-located @ 110 Hay Street (Rts.115/33) in W. Warwick. Also, along the West Bay Bikepath (Greenway) of Warwick, W.Warwick, Cranston & Coventry. Open to all volunteers - Encourage to bring favorite garden tools. Requirements: Basic refuse collection & recycling, public gardening and recreational restoration along with tree management and plant cultivation practices. Leisure: Also, bikepath walks, rugged hiking & trail markings along the confluence of the Pawtuxet River (RI longest waterway), water fowl and wildlife observations along with canoe/kayak safety paddles.
