The Rhode Island Convention center was full of local and national booth vendors; among them was News Talk 630 WPRO & 99.7 FM'S Lopco Contracting Sponsored Booth! Buddy and Ron had fun as did their onlookers who got to experience, "radio magic" happen before their eyes.
News Talk 630 WPRO & 99.7 FM Night @ McCoy! - WPRO was taken out to the ballgame @ McCoy on May 7th, 2008 to see the PawSox take on the Durham Bulls. WPRO's John DePetro threw out the first pitch and on a picture perfect evening a wonderful time was had by all.
1st Ever It's All About Mom Mother's Day Brunch - On May 3rd, 2008 News Talk 630 WPRO & 99.7 FM held it's first ever It's All About Mom Mother's Day Brunch at the Top of the Bay Restaurant in the Oakland Beach section of Warwick. Tara Granahan, Executive Producer of John DePetro & the WPRO Morning News was the Brunch's hostess with the mostess. Great food and fabulous prizes were enjoyed by all who attended. The party favors? Beautiful carnations and lasting memories!
2nd Annual Amazing Women Mentors! - The 2nd Annual Amazing Women Mentors Event with host Deb Ruggiero was held on May 6th, 2008 at The Loft @ 3 Steeple St! So many amazing women joined together in networking and sharing words of encouragement and motivation for each other. These amazing women included Lt. Governor Elizabeth Roberts, President & CEO of Women and Infants Hospital Connie Howes, Brown University Women's Hockey Coach Digit Murphy and many more! The Big Sisters of RI were on hand passing out literature on their wonderful program as well!
CURE KIDS CANCER RADIOTHON 2008! - News Talk 630 WPRO & 99.7 FM were down at Hasbro Childrens Hospital to raise money for the annual Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon. All of our live hosts were on hand to encourage our WPRO listeners to help out the kids and families at Hasbro! WPRO also appeared at Dunkin Donuts 1678 Post Road on Saturday March 29th to encourage listeners to come down and donate! WPRO Morning News Anchor Bill Haberman was on hand as well as other fabulous WPRO staff and Hasbro volunteers! 100% of the donations raised will go to Hasbro.
