Born and raised in Bristol, Rhode Island. Graduated from Mt. Hope High School in 1995 and got a Communications degree from Rhode Island College in 2000. He currently resides on the East Bay and tries to never leave.
Matt started his radio career as an intern for the promotions department at Citadel Communications and then moved to work on the highly rated Giovanni and Kim in the Morning show on 92 PRO-FM. While interning for that show, Matt started as a weekend producer for 630 WPRO & 99.7 FM. After a stint as the station's Promotions Manager he became a full time producer of the Steve Kass Show.
After the terror attacks on September 11th, WPRO decided to expand its talk line up to Saturdays and Matt got his first on-air shot as part of "Mental Floss" a show he co-hosted with Jen Brien. After a few years, Jen moved on in her career and the show became The Matt Allen Show airing on Saturdays from 9-11:45am.
Besides hosting the Saturday show, Matt was also the producer of The Dan Yorke Show, the top rated talkshow in Southern New England, which airs from 2-6pm weekdays.
